Ontario Catholic schools need to teach knowledge and faith, not ideology

Thomas Sowell is a well known American economist, historian and social theorist. He has written numerous books. In the interview we post below with the Hoover Institution, he offers an evaluation of American public education. Much of it applies to Canada. Sowell believes that much can be done to improve the school system. School choice is an example. His own education took him from a school in Harlem to an Ivy League school. He graduated from Harvard University and went on to finish a master's degree in economics at Columbia University and later a doctorate at the University of Chicago. The central problem he sees in post-modern public schools is the adoption of a progressive ideology at the expense of knowledge and thinking skills. For example, the idea of DIE, diversity, inclusion and equity education sounds like a positive policy, in practice it ends up harming those it's supposed to help.
