I have pointed out that the last Teaching of the Catholic Church was Pius XI's encyclical, Divini Redemptoris, where he clearly stated , " In fact, the most persistent enemies of the Church, who from Moscow are directing the struggle against Christian civilization, themselves bear witness, by their unceasing attacks in word and act..." That is the last definitive statement exposing our enemies and their physical headquarters. Why would we think that had changed? Hence the staged fall of the Soviet Union. I have also pointed out solid Catholic teaching on Zionism as an "error of Russia," still alive and well today. So while a Soviet "defector's" book isn't part of the Magisterium there is enough Catholic teaching on the subject to indict the modern Kremlin and Red Square for their role in destroying the Catholic Church.
