Multiple governments - including the USA, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, and Poland, - condemned Israeli police for blocking a private prayer by Cardinal Pizzaballa at the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem today. In response, Israeli officials say they are working on a plan to allow church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days. Cardinal Pizzaballa told TV2000 that there were no clashes: "Everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue. We want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."

Cardinal Pizzaballa: “It is true that the police had said that the orders from the internal command prevented any kind of gathering in places where there is no shelter, but we had not asked for anything public, just a brief and small private ceremony to preserve the idea of the celebration in the Holy Sepulchre. There were no clashes; everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue; we want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."

Cardinal Pizzaballa on Palm Sunday: “In this afternoon of Palm Sunday we gather without a procession, without palms waving through the streets. This absence is not merely a matter of formalities. It is the war that has interrupted our festive journey, making even the simple joy of following our King difficult.” “Today Jesus weeps once more over Jerusalem. He weeps over this city, which remains a sign of both hope and sorrow, of grace and suffering. He weeps over this Holy Land, still unable to recognize the gift of peace. He weeps for all the victims of a war that seems without end: for divided families, for shattered hopes. But the tears of Jesus are never fruitless. They open our eyes, challenge us, and reveal the truth.”

Pope Innocent III ~~~ Truly (the pope) should not flatter himself about his power, nor should he rashly glory in his honor and high estate...

To be clear, in the case of heresy it is God who judges it because the Catholic Faith is revealed by God. The Pope is in effect judged by God as a heretic when he rejects the faith. Any man can identify the Pope as a heretic freely without any problem in that case. The man is not judging the Pope, the Pope has already been judged by God. The man is simply expressing an existing judgement.

brhenry

Only GOD alone can definitively judge the Pope an heretic.

Passion Sunday – A - Second Reading - Philippians 2:6–11 – Christ humbled Himself
Letter to the Philippians 2,6-11.
Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance,
he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Leo XIV visited Monaco today. The trip included meetings with Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, as well as encounters with clergy and youth, and a Eucharist attended by around 15,000 people. At the end of the Eucharist, Leo XIV greeted 100-year-old priest César Penzo, who has served as chaplain to the princes of Monaco for 45 years.

Dopo 45 anni trascorsi come cappellano dei principi di Monaco, padre César Penzo assistette alla storica visita di papa Leone XIV, partecipò alla messa e ebbe l’occasione di salutare il Santo Padre al termine della funzione.

The Christmas Truce WWI 1914
Edward G. L II on Dec 10, 2017 The Christmas truce (German: Weihnachtsfrieden; French: Trêve de Noël) refers to a series of widespread but unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front of World War I around Christmas 1914.
In the week leading up to the 25th, French, German, and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In some areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football (soccer) with one another, giving one of the most memorable images of the truce. Peaceful behavior was not ubiquitous; fighting continued in some sectors, while in others the sides settled on little more than arrangements to recover bodies.
The following year, a few units arranged ceasefires but the truces were not nearly as …Ētahi atu

Leo XIV Unlikely to Overturn 'Traditionis Custodes' – U.S. Bishop

Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, has defended his decisions to restrict the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass to only one location and to prohibit the use any tools for kneeling at Communion.
In an interview with AmericaMagazine.org on 26 March, he began with a thinly veiled dismissal of Catholics attached to the Roman rite: "I don't want to say that they're some sort of lunatic fringe. They're not. These are people who feel strongly about the liturgy, and there's goodness and holiness in that."
Leo XIV Would Not Change what Francis Has Done
Monsignor Martin referred to his responsibility as a bishop to maintain fidelity to the Church’s "norms". He framed his cruel decisions, especially those relating to the Traditional Latin Mass, as an act of obedience: "All I did was implement Traditionis Custodes in the Diocese of Charlotte."
The bishop rejected the idea of extending the existing Masses indefinitely without a clear pastoral plan to end them: "If we need …Ētahi atu
