Synodality in Action: During the Holy Thursday liturgy, Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, delegated the foot-washing ritual to lay men and women. The Eucharist was at the Jesuits' church. Bishop Martin participated in the ritual himself, but he also allowed members of the laity to perform much of the optional Mandatum.
Brian Williams on Twitter: Meanwhile in Charlotte, Bishop Martin delegated the washing of feet on Holy Thursday to lay men and women. +Martin did participate to some degree, but at this Jesuit parish where he chose to celebrate Holy Thursday, the laity assumed the role of the clergy for much of the (optional) mandatum.
Processional departure of the image of Our Lady of the Sweet Name from San Pedro el Viejo, in Madrid. The statue is so large and the chapel doorway so small that the bearers must carry the paso out on their knees.
By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? McGovern thinks that Putin is trying to talk sense into trump. With Putin giving him the real cold Turkey saying, we can't let this go on so that Israel is destroyed and has no other option than to use nukes. It's always President Putin who tries to restore and make peace. This is why Russia is so Blessed. And why some hate the fact Putin was not involved in the epstein files as they had hoped. I lost count this year alone on how many times President Putin and Russia was rewarded for helping out others. No matter how much some try to make us hate Russia or Putin, the facts always speak louder than words. And they just can't handle that. By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
kouji @yoyonofukuoka A post reposted by Japan’s Finance Minister Katayama. Japan’s major oil company ENEOS has succeeded for the first time in producing synthetic fuel (e-fuel) — made without using petroleum — from CO₂ in the air and water at its facility in Yokohama. The demonstration plant’s current production scale is still very small at 1 barrel per day (roughly the size of one drum), but the company aims to scale it up to 10,000 barrels per day by 2040. Although it is still at the experimental stage, this is drawing attention as a new fuel that could reduce dependence on petroleum. In the timeline we’re currently living in, the move away from oil appears to be beginning at the same time as the move away from the US dollar.
Iran offering oil to Europe - only if they pay in Euros The U.S. petrodollar is not backed by gold. Since 1971, when President Nixon ended the conversion of U.S. dollars to gold, the dollar has been a fiat currency. Instead, the petrodollar system refers to the global trade of oil in U.S. dollars, which creates constant demand for the currency and is supported by the US economy and military security agreements. The final criminal case against the Catholic pro-life investigator David Daleiden has been dismissed. This ends a nearly decade-long legal battle stemming from his undercover investigation into the abortion industry. Daleiden released in 2015 a series of undercover videos showing that officials connected to Planned Parenthood Federation of America sold body parts and fetal tissue of aborted babies. In 2016, the office of then–California Attorney General Kamala Harris (2011-2017) prosecuted Daleiden and his colleague Sandra Merritt related to illegal recording (invasion of privacy). She did not prosecute Planned Parenthood. Over time, more than half of the charges were dismissed by a judge. Instead of going to trial on the remaining charges, David Daleiden agreed in 2025 to the deal “no contest” (nolo contendere) . It allows a defendant to resolve a criminal case without admitting guilt while accepting the court’s judgment. The agreement included no jail time, fines, or probation, …Caman

Pope Leo XIV Revives Holy Thursday Tradition … During the Mass “in Coena Domini,” the Pope washed the feet of twelve priests, eleven of whom were ordained by him just last year. According to LifeSiteNews, Pope Leo XIV has “restored the tradition of washing the feet of 12 priests on Holy Thursday following a 14-year hiatus of the practice.” The report notes that the Pope is returning both to the traditional location of the Lateran Basilica and to the longstanding custom of washing the feet of clergy …Caman
We remember Mr. Diefenbacker with affection even though we were young when he was fighting for Canada...and we saw how the Liberals mercilessly and gleefully attacked him in order to appeal to those new European immigrants who liked the word “liberal “ but didn’t realize what they stood for...And then Mr. Pearson gave way to the corruption under Trudeau Sr. who hoodwinked us into believing he was concerned for this country when all he was concerned with were his vices.
Franciscan Father Francesco Patton wrote the meditations for tonight's Stations of the Cross at the Colosseum in Rome with Pope Leo XIV. Fr Patton served as Custos of the Holy Land from 2016 to 2025. On April 1, he told VaticanNews.va that the inspiration comes from "current reality" and that the meditations are meant to inspire political "change". The Vatican press office published the text today. Traditionally a penitential and contemplative devotion, the Via Crucis is repurposed here as a vehicle for contemporary socio-political reflection. The text shifts from the Passion of Christ to war, refugees, human trafficking, surveillance, deportation, the media, the economy, prisons, hostages, and crackdowns on protests. Notably absent, however, are abortion, euthanasia, and gender ideology. One acclamation reads: "For migrants, the displaced, and refugees: Comfort us, O Mother." In the first station, the meditation talks about political and economic power "to start or end a war… the power …Caman
Why I never understood the Benedict resignation: "Our Apostles also knew, through our Lord Jesus Christ, that there would be contention over the bishop's office. So, for this cause, having received complete foreknowledge, they appointed the above mentioned men, and afterwards gave them a permanent character, so that, AS THEY DIED, other approved men should succeed to their ministry." Saint Clement, Bishop of Rome, Letter to the Corinthians, Chapter 44. First Century
Easter Vigil We rejoice in the Lord’s creation. Then, the Light springs forth from our hearts. This Light is the Love, joy, and peace of God. With God, there is no night. And nothing harms anyone with God’s Love. Mt 28:1-10 Even if Jesus seems to disappear from our sight, he goes before us and is always present with us. He listens to us, he loves us with the Heart of the Father, and he inspires us with his Spirit. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
