End of an Era: Jesuits Withdraw from Murcia: The Society of Jesus has closed its last remaining community in Murcia, Spain, ending its resident presence in the Diocese of Cartagena. Jesuit Provincial Fr. Enric Puiggròs said the closure is part of a "restructuring" driven by a lack of vocations and the aging of the order's members. The Jesuits' presence in Murcia goes back to the 16th century, shortly after the founding of the Society of Jesus in 1540.

He told Michael Matt, who described his recovery as incredible given the state of the car after the accident. Fr Michael Mary of the Transalpine Redemptorist group at Papa Stronsay, Scotland, will receive an unauthorized “episcopal consecration” on July 25.
