Bishop Gerard de Korte of’s-Hertogenbosch has responded critically to the open letter against the failed synodal project by his auxiliary bishop Rob Mutsaerts. Monsignor Mutsaerts did not consult him about this lengthy open letter, Bishop De Korte told Nd.nl on August 14. For him “a personal letter to the pope would have been the proper course of action, if Mutsaerts truly does not wish to sow division, as he writes”. Bishop de Korte added: “After all, a bishop or auxiliary bishop has his own means of communicating with the Bishop of Rome”. And: “In any case, at the request of Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV, the Dutch bishops will continue building a synodal Church. On Friday, October 16, the bishops and Dutch religious orders will organize a national day of inspiration on synodality, at the St. John’s Centre in ’s-Hertogenbosch.” In 2020, because of differences with the liberal Bishop de Korte, Monsignor Mutsaerts stepped down from virtually all of his administrative duties in the …Okuninzi
Bishop Mutsaerts says the obvious. All the other bishops in the Netherlands (and the Conference of Religious) share in the Church’s mysterious blindness. Thank God for Bishop Mutsaerts!
“Globalism has already failed to meet the needs of the people. It serves only the financial elite,” Marian Eleganti, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Chur, told LaNuovaBq on August 13. On Muslim immigration, he said: “Personally, I am convinced that Islam cannot be integrated into our political systems shaped by Christianity. There is no apolitical Islam, consisting purely of an interior religious life. It is a system of domination. The more convinced its followers are of this, the less integrable it is. The result is parallel societies.” He also criticized the Church’s approach to unlimited immigration: “The Catholic Church should not adopt an idealistic approach… [that] ignores the very real social problems associated with unlimited immigration.”

Bishop Vicente de Paula Ferreira, 55, of Livramento de Nossa Senhora in Bahia, Brazil, criticized the consecration of dioceses to St. Michael the Archangel. In an August 8 social-media post, Bishop Ferreira wrote: “Are there theological justifications for consecration to St. Michael? One consecrates oneself to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Isn’t the devil that is being fought rather imaginary? The greater exorcism should be of homophobia, femicide, racism, crimes against Indigenous peoples — of this legion of evils.” Ferreira’s comments came as dioceses across Brazil have been participating in “The Great Reconquest,” an initiative promoted by the Hesed Institute centered on devotion and consecration to St. Michael. According to ACI Digital, 34 Brazilian dioceses had been consecrated to St. Michael by August 11. #newsJjefxvmkpq

Israel Evicted Settlers Besieging Palestinian Homes. Hours Later, They Were Back. The military’s failure to keep extremists away from two Palestinian families trapped in their West Bank homes made clear the chaos gripping the Israeli-occupied territory. nytimes.com/…d/middleeast/west-bank-siege-israeli… By Natan Odenheimer and Fatima AbdulKarim Natan Odenheimer reported from Jerusalem and Fatima AbdulKarim from Bir Zeit, in the West Bank. Aug. 13, 2026 The Israeli military evicted on Thursday about a dozen settlers who had besieged two Palestinian families in their West Bank homes, but several hours later settlers returned. The Palestinian families had been trapped in their homes since Sunday by Israeli settlers, who had erected a tent nearby and, residents said, attacked them, including with rocks. On Thursday morning, Israeli soldiers dismantled structures set up in the area by the settlers, confiscated some equipment, detained one settler and dispersed the rest, according to a military …Okuninzi
Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts of 's-Hertogenbosch wrote on August 13 an open letter to Leo XIV. Main phrases. - Does the synodal process actually help bring souls closer to Christ and to eternal salvation? […] What has all this actually yielded? Not: how many meetings were organized? Not: how many reports were written? Not: how many people participated? But: has faith become stronger? Has Christ been proclaimed more clearly? - When one asks such questions, it is impossible to consider the Synod a success. - What once began as a 2021–2024 synod threatens to become a permanent form of governance. - The classical synod was a means. In contemporary synodal discourse, synodality threatens to become an end in itself. - The Church is not a conversation but a received reality. For the Church does not begin with our dialogue. It begins with Christ. - Christ did not set up a discussion group. He called apostles. He gave them authority. He sent them out to proclaim, baptize, and teach. - Truth is …Okuninzi

The Mass Atop Africa: On 9 August, Father João Silveira celebrated Mass in the Roman Rite at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is 5,895 metres above sea level. He had completed a week-long pilgrimage with Michael Matt of The Remnant newspaper and a group of traditional Catholics.
Biblical Cosmology: The Earth Is a Stationary Plane Beneath the Celestial Vault - The Bible makes no mention of outer space or the trillions upon trillions of other planets that modern astronomers claim exist. Nor does it mention a Big Bang beginning or the force of gravity that keeps people and oceans attached to all sides of a rotating sphere. The cosmology described in the Bible is clearly geocentric, fixed, and motionless, with a flat Earth. Source:youtube.com/watch?v=mkDfxFR5gwg
Pick your favorite travel website, like Travelocity. Create two flight plans circumnavigating the earth. One above the equator and the other below the equator. If the earth was flat, the flight below the equator should be about 3 times longer "near the ice wall" than "near the flat earth center". You will find that they are nearly the same.
On August 13, Pope Leo XIV appointed Francesco Cesareo, 67, president emeritus of Assumption University in Worcester, Massachusetts, to the Vatican Committee for Historical Sciences. He was appointed alongside Umberto Longo, who is apparently a Freemason, and Polish historian Anna Barańska. Cesareo is married and the father of three adult children. From 2007 until 2022, he served as president of Assumption University. He left to live closer to his family and first grandchild and now teaches at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Pennsylvania. "LGBTQ-Friendly" University President During Cesareo's presidency, Assumption University recognized the homosexual student organization AU Allies and was listed as “LGBTQ-friendly” by the homosexual group 'New Ways Ministry'. The clearest controversy arose in 2020. Assumption's Campus Ministry circulated the U.S. bishops' document 'Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship'. There is a question that has been weighing heavily on my heart, and it is a difficult question to ask: “Are we becoming a Church without God?” Of course, I do not mean that God has abandoned His Church. Jesus Christ promised that the gates of hell would not prevail against her. Nor do I mean that there are not countless faithful Catholics, holy priests, religious, bishops, fathers and mothers who love God deeply and are striving every day to live the Catholic faith. I mean something different. I am asking whether we have gradually constructed a way of thinking about the Church – a way of governing her, speaking about her, worshipping within her, and determining her priorities – that increasingly functions as though the supernatural were no longer the central reality. Because Catholicism is supernatural or it is nothing. Think about the Catholic faith our ancestors knew. They believed in heaven. They believed in hell. They believed in angels and demons. They believed that Satan was real …Okuninzi
Cardinal Raymond Burke delivered a short video message to “those who are "discouraged by the persecution of the traditional Latin mass that is presently going on" (Wdtprs.com, August 13). The cardinal described the Mass in the Roman rite as "a tremendous good in the Church" that will "never be lost". "It is for us now even at the cost of suffering to fight for it that it be as available as possible to all the faithful who desire it." #newsItmmgdutxf
St. Maximilian Kolbe - August 14 Priest and Martyr (1894-1941) Raymond Kolbe was born on January 8, 1894, in Zdunska Wola, Poland, during the Russian occupation. The Kolbe home was poor but full of love. His parents, hardworking and religious, educated their three sons. Around 1906, an event took place that marked a fundamental milestone in his life. His mother related the event a few months after her son's martyrdom. "I knew ahead of time, based on an extraordinary event that took place in his infancy, that Maximilian would die a martyr. I just don't recall if it took place before or after his first confession. Once I did not like one of his pranks and I reproached him for it: 'My son, what ever will become of you?' Later, I did not think of it again, but I noticed that the boy had changed so radically, he was hardly recognizable. We had a small altar hidden between two dressers before which he used to often retire without being noticed and he would pray there crying. In general, he …Okuninzi

On August 13, Leo XIV appointed Umberto Longo, Director of the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages in Rome and Professor of Medieval History at the secular Sapienza University of Rome, as a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. The online footprint of Umberto Longo repeatedly places that name - and, in later cases, an identifiable Professor Longo - within the institutional environment of Italian Freemasonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The examples span a decade. 2013 - Scottish Rite, Lazio: The Masonic publication LOGOS identifies a certain “Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°” as an officer of the Loggia di Perfezione Maestri Segreti “Giano” in Rome. The publication introduces a series of texts under the heading: “Le Tavole del Fr. More importantly, the issue contains the official 2013 officers …Okuninzi
So, did Leo XIV appoint a Freemason? There is strong documentary evidence that a Roman man named Umberto Longo occupied Masonic positions in 2013–2014. There is unquestionable evidence that Professor Umberto Longo subsequently participated in events (2019, 2022) connected to major Italian Masonic institutions.

"Catholic" Governor Removes Abortion Limits: Massachusetts has removed its gestational limit on abortion. This means that abortions can legally occur until close to birth. Democratic Governor Maura Healey, a "Catholic", signed the law on August 10. Massachusetts bishops opposed the legislation, but no canonical penalties, including excommunication, have followed. Healey was also received by Pope Francis at the Vatican in 2024.

Leo XIV Appoints Indian Bishop Practicing Indigenous Adivasi Rites: Today, Pope Leo XIV has appointed the indigenious Bishop Albert Hemrom, 57, as Coadjutor Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Guwahati, India. This video was taken in October 2023 when he celebrated the silver jubilee of St John Vianney Church in Uriamghat, Assam. Monsignor Hemrom participated in the Aarti ceremony with the Adivasi community. Women held ceremonial brass platters (thali). Incense was waved before the bishop to purify him and invoke blessings. Then, a red tilak blessing mark was placed on his forehead. Finally, he was presented with a traditional Assamese gamosa, a handwoven white-and-red ceremonial scarf, which was draped around his neck.
Leo XIV promoted this Bishop, Dr. Albert Hemrom to a major Archdicoese. The video shows him at the St John Vianney Church at Uriamghat for their Silver Jubilee.
The Test: Roman magistrates gave arrested Christians a chance to go free. All they had to do was scatter a pinch of incense on an altar fire to the pagan gods or to the genius of the Emperor. That "single pinch of incense" was the definitive test of the ancient world. It is most famously associated with St. Polycarp, the Bishop of Smyrna, who was martyred around 155–156 AD.
